Engaging

A significant component within the healing process for young offenders is community involvement and participation. Through a range of activities, bridges are built between mainstream society and those trapped by institutionalism and repeated offending. The activities include:

  • Sport – football, volleyball, and regular basketball games
  • Weekly social time to interact with board games through to high energy games like British Bulldog
  • Special activities including music, handicrafts, drama and monthly church services

Each activity provides a framework for the formation of positive relationships, the cornerstone of helping and developing young people at risk. They also affirm the value and worth of each young person and aid in the development of their cognitive abilities.
